I've been working on character designs for both of the new comics. One of them led to the guest boxer in this week's fite. The rhino, for whatever reason, suggested a pole dancer to me in the cat comic, and that's likely what he'll be. I think I just like the contrast.

I used some simple texture tricks I learned from shatterstripes to add to the background and will likely do something of the same in both comics. These two images are just pairings of character style and background style. While researching the stuff I wanted, I came across the work of Raoul Dufy, whom I somehow missed until now. He's got some keen stuff and will likely inspire all the way around.
